Are You Disturbing Your Neighbors?

March 7, 2025

Originally published in 1994

Your rotating beacon may be a welcome sight to a pilot, but an extremely irritating nuisance to your neighbors. According to AC 150/ 5340-21 beam adjustment should be made “at night so that the result can be readily observed. Adjust the beam elevation as directed by the engineer or as shown on the plans, except in no case shall the elevation of the beam be less than 2 degrees above the horizontal.”
