Giddings-Lee County Airport Newsbrief

June 10, 2025

By Carla Dedera, Airport Manager

On May I, the Giddings-Lee County Airport frequency changed to 123.05. As an official UNICOM station now designated, we can give you airport advisories, if you request them. An outside speaker has been installed so that we can hear you, when we are outside fueling an airplane or doing other duties. Call us back if you cannot reach us right away, okay?

Advisory Safety Alert: Stating the name of the airport before and after your request for airport advisories makes it easier for us on the ground to know which airport you are asking about. Also, remember to key the mike completely before you begin talking and, please, keep it keyed all the way to the end. Sometimes in the urgency of landing, the mouth and the mike are not in sync.

And, by the way, our pancake breakfasts are held on the third Saturday of each month, instead of the second as reported in the last Wingtips – sorry, my mistake!
