The results of the 1998 Lighting Inspection Study are in! Thirty-three airports received one hundred points, the highest possible score.

These airports include:

Andrews County, Bryan Coulter Field, Panola County, Castroville, Houston County, Edinburg, Ennis, Pecos County, Fort Worth Meacham, Gillespie County, Gatesville, Gonzales, Houston-Clover Field, Houston-Hooks Memorial, Kent County, Kerrville, Madisonville, Memphis, Mesquite Metro, Midland Airpark, Wood County, Ozona, Paris Cox Field, Pearsall McKinley Field, Port Aransas, Port Mansfield, Sherman, Sonora, Teague, Temple, Terrell, Tulia and Wills Point.

The Aviation Division extends its congratulations to these airports. Their commitment and attention to detail set the standard of excellence for all of the general aviation airports in Texas. These airports have anywhere from zero to almost 400 based aircraft, proving that any airport, large or small, can have an excellent lighting system. Congratulations to all of you for your efforts.
