The Barbara Jordan Passenger Terminal at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport recently received the Texas Society of Architects’ annual design award at TSA’s annual convention held in San Antonio.
Attention to openness was commended as the most striking feature of the terminal. Additionally, a large central atrium opens up the building and the gently curving glass wall facing the runway floods the interior with natural light. The terminal was designed by Page Sutherland Page of Austin and Gensler of Houston and was selected from a pool of 183 entries.
